Stylecraft Special DK yarn to make a Cath Kidston style blanket

21 Sep

Good morning.

I wanted to share with you all my latest make using Stylecraft Special DK. I wanted to make a blanket that had a Cath Kidston colour vibe and using Stylecraft Special DK gives me the colour ways I needed to style it. I’ve seen many blankets on the Cath Kidston website that are Crocheted and they cost an absolute fortune to buy. So I thought I would save myself some pennies and make my own using the Granny stripe tutorial over on ATTIC 24

The colours I have chosen are as follows:

  • Lipstick
  • Fondant
  • Meadow
  • Aster
  • Cloud Blue
  • Lemon
  • Cream

Stylecraft special DkThe pattern I have used is the Attic 24 Granny stripe which is a really easy pattern to follow and great for sitting in front of the TV while you crochet away. Im thinking a white and lipstick boarder for the finished blanket would look nice.

Attic 24 granny stripeHere is what it looks like so far, it covers the top of my bed but Im not so sure it will be big enough to go over without moving too much. It may just be used for a sofa blanket, or camping blanket.

Its a very easy pattern and I love how its working up so quick. What do we think?

I cant wait for it to be finished for snuggling up this winter.
