So you can probably see from the title that I simply adore Stylecraft Special DK wool. Its my favourite brand to work with and I use it as much as possible.
I get alot of inspiration from other bloggers and Instagram. I can spend hours drooling over different colour combos and newest colours.
One of my biggest inspirations is Lucy over at Attic24. I’m more then sure you have heard of her, and my two latest blankets use her cosy stripe pattern (you can find it on ravelry)
My last finished blanket was a single bed sized cupcake blanket, the colours are suggested by Lucy again and even though they are very pastel, I do love it very much.
The blanket took me approx 6 weeks to finish and I went hard into making sure it was done quickly. It ended with me having chronic wrist pain and I had to have a break after completion. I also noticed I changed my crochet technique throughout making it and this has resulted on a slightly wonky width, but it really doesn’t effect the blanket much. This is it laid on my king sized bed. So you can see its a really good sized blanket, and I must admit Ive fallen pray to sleeping under it on the sofa once or twice since its finish. It spent many nights on my lap as I really wanted to finish it.I edged it in duck egg blue, lemon and cream. Duck egg is definitely one of my favourite Stylecraft colours.
Ive now moved on to one of my own colour combos. I have been using the following colour recipe.
- Cloud Blue
- Palma Violet
I’ve kept the tension on this one a bit better by sticking to the same way of crocheting as I go. It looks much neater to me and I’m sewing in my ends every few rows or so as I hate doing them all at the end.
Once I’ve finished this one I’m planning a green coloured blanket for my nephew for Christmas. Oh my goodness I’m thinking of Christmas already, I’m even considering some handmade gifts for my besties. A couple of blankets, maybe some scarfs or snoods, not sure yet. May even make a few Harry potter house scarfs for those truely deserving of them. I hate K1 P1 rib it takes forever.
Id love to know what you think of my current projects and how you feel about Stylecraft yarn so please feel free to leave a comment below.
