Autumn bounty from the garden

13 Oct

I happened to have been gifted a huge bag of cooking apples this weekend, so I decided to make the most of them and turn it into Apple pie/crumble filling for my freezer.

Lots of hands made light work of the huge bagful.

Getting a good sweet baseOnce the apples were done I made a lovely syrupy base using 6 cups of water, 4 cups of sugar, 1 cup of cornflour, 1-2 tsp of Cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

Added the apples and cooked for a further 10 mins.

Then bagged into baggies and left to cool before freezing.

While they were cooling we took a quick visit to the carboot and I got this cute bargain canvas for just 50p

Carboot bargainI also made a sunday dinner, and decided to give some yorkshire puddings ago. Not something Im great at.

But alas these ones turned out perfect.

Best Yorkshire Puddings Ive ever madeI’ve also had some really interesting emails the last week with some features for the site. A new secret project to work on which I’m hoping to start very soon alongside my pretty Cath Kidston blanket.

The dreaded C word approaches and its the time of year I get my Christmas savings, So I’ve started planning what I need to buy in advance and I will be hiding it all away ready for the big day. Unfortunately my boy no longer believes in the magic of Santa, but I’m hoping it may mean a chance for a good nights sleep on the morning of Christmas.

I already have my wrapping paper saved from the sales last year, I just need to buy a new diary and also some Christmas Cards.

If anyone wants to know what to buy me, I’m thinking a VIP tour of the Harry Potter Studio Tour would make my year especially if chocolate frogs and butterbeer are included.

Many other things have been happening too and hopefully lots to share with you over the next few weeks.

See you again soon
